The Oscars Best Hair & Makeup 2015

The Best Hair And Makeup Looks Of The 2015 Oscars Came From Stars Who Took A Risk

Rita Ora Jen Aniston Emma Stone 2015 Oscars

No matter how gorgeous the dresses can possibly get at the Academy Awards, it’s impossible to deny that the beauty decisions made by celebs and their stylists are what truly complete a look worthy of the best-dressed list. You can wear the most expensive, beautiful, perfectly-fitting gown in the world and if you use too much contouring powder or do your eyeliner unevenly, it throws the whole thing off. Fortunately, that’s not an issue for these famous faces.

The cool thing about this year’s Academy Awards is that the greatest hair and makeup came from stars who changed up their usual trademark styles and tried something new. From the perfect shade of lipstick to the most glamorous of braids, these are the best beauty looks from the 2015 Oscars red carpet.

Zendaya

Matching her pearl earrings to that gorgeous white Vivienne Westwood gown, Zendaya looked stunning after swapping her adorable short pixie cut from the Grammys for long, full dreadlocks. It’s just one great hairstyle after another for this girl!

Rita Ora

Yes, yes, yes. Forgoing her trademark red lipstick, Rita set out to achieve a completely different look than usual and achieved it majestically, probably because she did not try to change anything about her makeup or face too much. Her smooth blonde hair’s contrast with her glowing complexion, smokey eye, and simple nude lip color is just unreal. I love a good departure from a star’s typical look, so high five to Rita and her makeup artist of the evening.

Chrissy Teigen

Gosh, Chrissy Teigen looks unbelievably beautiful with these mermaid waves and the perfect burgundy lip color.

Jennifer Aniston

What. Is. Up girl?! Jen looked absolutely stunning in this Atelier Versace gown with her hair smooth, skin glowing, and makeup subtle.

Lady Gaga

Soooo, can we just talk about how incredible (and incredibly normal) Lady Gaga now looks? She still has a unique flare with her long, tied-back gray hair and those (ridiculous) red gloves, but this warm shimmery eye makeup and bold red lip are perfect for the Academy Awards. And that red flowered hair piece? Oof. Get it, girl.

Carmen Ejogo

This might be the best lip color of the evening. That raspberry shade on Carmen’s skin tone combined with an wonderful wash of coordinating blush and sexy finger waves…guh. Carmen, you win everything.

Chloe Grace Moretz

I’m loving Chloe’s lovely eyebrows and allover pinkish makeup. It works perfectly with her full floral gown, complete with pockets.

Emma Stone

Aaaand as per usual, Emma Stone looks like a goddess with red finger waves, lovely red lipstick, and a wash of peach blush.

Scarlett Johansson

I am totally into ScarJo’s pretty new hair color by Wella and her simple, pretty makeup, but these mismatched earrings are what I really love about this look. If you’re going to have short hair, you might as well show off cool earring.

Jessica Chastain

Wow, Jessica killed it with this simple 1960s cat eye and glossy lip combo. Another star whose trademark red lip color (not to mention her usual mermaid waves) were switched out for a totally different yet equally lovely look.

Lupita Nyong’o

Skipping her usual bright, colorful eye makeup, Lupita went with a silvery-black smokey eye that complemented her pearly Calvin Klein gown. The simple earrings and absence of any neck jewelry made this a balanced yet unique outfit.

Solange

While Solange isn’t somebody I expected to see at the Oscars, it’s hard to deny that she looked fantastic in this Christian Siriano gown with big curls and a spot-on red lip.

Dakota Johnson

While this sienna smokey eye and these wispy bangs wouldn’t look right on just everybody, Dakota’s demure, wide-eyed face pulls ‘em off.

Kelly Osbourne

Goodness, what a gorgeous raspberry shade of lipstick. And as per usual, Kelly’s hair is killing it in both the color and style departments.
